Sylvester Hayker holds a PhD in Recreation and Sports Management from Kenyatta University, Kenya. He is an early career scholar and lecturer of Leisure and Recreation at the Department of Hospitality and Leisure Studies, the Technical University of Kenya. He is affiliated with The African Centre of Excellence for Studies in Public and Non-Motorised Transport (ACET) at the Institute for Development Studies (IDS), University of Nairobi, Kenya. His area of research interests are: active/non-motorised transport among children in urban/built environment, leisure traveling and well-being, active recreation in urban spaces, outdoor recreation, leadership and experiential pursuits.
